About

LIVE LIKE I WANT is a blog that embraces that motto through photos.  This is a peek into my life (READ ME), my creative process, my inspirations & a look at beloved recipes, restaurants and anything else to do with food.  Hawaii/Tokyo/&everywhere in between is where my pictures are from.  All photos are taken by me (unless otherwise stated).  If you would like to use a photo (for non-commercial purposes) you may do so as long as you link back to my blog.

FAQ:

First off, I am always astounded by the people interested in my blog & in my life.  Thank you for your interest.  I`ve compiled a short list of answers to questions I am frequently asked in email.

How did you get your visa [to work in Japan]?
I researched several companies in Japan before applying.  After I got the job, my work sponsored my visa.  I stayed in Japan on a working visa.

What type of camera do you use?
I use a Nikon D3100, Canon Powershot G9 and Kodak easyshare sport C123 (for underwater shots).

Where do you shop the most often [in Japan]?
In Ikebukuro`s PARCO & Esola.

Do you have any advice about living in Japan?
If you want to save money, cook your own food & make sure you buy Japanese groceries (import food will make your bill more expensive).  I think this advice can be applied to anywhere in the world.  Also, Japan has some fabulous restaurants on the cheap so try out those ramen places (especially try the "store`s special flavor" to find different tastes) & go during lunch time for good deals.  Keep an open mind, don`t be afraid to go places by yourself & remember that you don`t always need to speak Japanese in order to make friends (a smile & effort goes a long way).

Where did you meet your husband?
Club ATOM.

What is your job?  How much money do you make?
Sorry, I do not answer private questions about finances or my place of work on my blog.  However, I will say this: I am very financially stable because I practice good finance.  For all the people reading fashion-related blogs or any blogs where the owners seem to be constantly buying, keep in mind that you should always try your best to not be sucked into that material mentality-- if you have the money, feel free to use it how you like but I always warn others against going into debt just so they can buy that designer purse! Be smart about your money!

I just started a blog.  Can you check it out and give me some advice?
While I would love to visit your blog I just don`t have the time.  My best advice is read sites like Problogger.net and show your passion for what you are blogging about- if you are excited other people will be too.
